Retail Training Specialist

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on new hire training in a convenience store environment to ensure consistency and standardization
• Administer candidate skill assessments and document results within the HRIS
• Facilitate new hire orientation sessions and in-person classes
• Manage training content and collaborate on the development of new manuals and training aids
• Work with management to identify performance gaps and develop solutions to improve team performance
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports regarding training effectiveness
• Maintain subject matter expertise in store equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Coordinate training supplies and materials in collaboration with Store Managers

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and retail experience
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and videoconferencing platforms like Zoom or Teams
• Experience working with HRIS and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Ability to work an irregular schedule, including some evenings and weekends
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized training in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, or Adult Education
• 2-3 years of front-line retail experience
• Experience coaching for performance improvement and driving key metrics through training
• Familiarity with retail equipment such as POS systems, lottery terminals, and kitchen equipment
