Retail Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Reduce shrinkage by detecting and deterring theft and ensuring compliant loss prevention activities
• Provide a visible loss prevention presence and utilize store technology including CCTV and merchandise protection
• Educate retail team members on loss prevention strategies, processes, and results
• Conduct loss prevention and compliance checks and maintain administrative reporting
• Identify and communicate shrinkage trends and issues to management
• Investigate loss prevention risks and incidents, including attending court as a witness when required
• Liaise and maintain professional relationships with local police and center security
• Perform policy-compliant apprehension of offenders

Requirements

• Current Security License and Certificate II in Security Operations
• Valid First-aid Certificate
• Experience in loss prevention, security, or customer service
• Proficiency with computer applications and strong numeracy skills
• Understanding of police procedures and the application of company policies
• Availability to work across key store trading hours, including every second weekend
