Retail Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Reduce shrinkage by detecting and deterring theft through active floor engagement and regular patrols
• Maintain a visible security presence to ensure building and team safety
• Utilize store technologies including CCTV, merchandise protection, and source tagging
• Conduct loss prevention and compliance checks and maintain administrative reporting
• Identify and communicate shrinkage trends and issues to management
• Investigate loss prevention risks and incidents, including attending court as a witness if required
• Liaise with local police and center security to maintain professional relationships
• Perform policy-compliant apprehension of offenders

Requirements

• Current Security License and Certificate II in Security Operations
• Valid First-aid Certificate
• Experience in loss prevention, security, or customer service
• Proficiency with computer applications and numeracy skills
• Understanding of police procedures and the application of company policies
• Availability to work across key trading hours, including every second weekend
