Retail Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Reduce shrinkage by detecting and deterring theft and implementing loss prevention tactics
• Provide a visible security presence and utilize store technology including CCTV and merchandise protection
• Conduct loss prevention and compliance checks to ensure building and team security
• Maintain loss prevention administration, reporting, and identification of shrinkage trends
• Educate retail team members on loss prevention strategies and processes
• Investigate loss prevention risks and incidents, including liaising with local police and attending court as a witness when required
• Perform policy-compliant apprehension of offenders

Requirements

• Current Security License and Certificate II in Security Operations
• Valid First-aid Certificate
• Proficiency with computer applications and strong numeracy skills
• Understanding of police procedures and the application of company policies
• Availability to work across key store trading hours, including every second weekend
• Previous experience in loss prevention, security, or customer service is advantageous
