Retail Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Reduce shrinkage by detecting and deterring theft through active floor engagement and regular patrols
• Maintain a visible Loss Prevention presence to ensure building and team security
• Utilize store technologies including CCTV, merchandise protection, and source tagging
• Conduct Loss Prevention and compliance checks and maintain administrative reporting
• Identify and communicate shrinkage trends and issues to management
• Liaise with local police and centre security to support criminal investigations
• Perform policy-compliant apprehension of offenders and attend court as a witness when required
• Educate retail team members on loss prevention strategies and processes

Requirements

• Current Security License and Certificate II in Security Operations
• Valid First-aid Certificate
• Understanding of Police procedures and application of company policies
• Proficiency with computer applications and numeracy skills
• Ability to work across key store trading hours, including every second weekend
• Experience in loss prevention, security, or customer service is advantageous
