Retail Relationship Banker

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying financial needs and providing tailored advice.
• Conduct needs-based assessments to recommend solutions for everyday banking, retail investments, lending, and small business needs.
• Proactively engage with the community to generate appointments and build new client relationships.
• Provide guidance on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance the customer experience.
• Make credit recommendations for personal lending and home financing in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Apply risk management frameworks to protect bank assets and maintain the quality of the lending portfolio.
• Collaborate with branch team members to achieve business objectives and ensure accurate data entry and compliance.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial services or a consultative sales role.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of retail investments, lending products, and personal/small business banking solutions.
• Federal registration with the NMLS is required (the Bank will provide instruction on registration requirements).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
• Proficiency with digital tools, including tablets, smartphones, and online banking applications.

• Experience in a consultative customer service or sales-driven environment.
• Appropriate lending qualifications and industry designations.
• Proven ability to thrive in a team-based, results-oriented setting.
