Retail Relationship Banker

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying needs and providing tailored financial advice.
• Conduct needs-based assessments to recommend solutions for everyday banking, retail investments, lending, and small business needs.
• Proactively engage with the community to generate appointments and build new client relationships.
• Provide guidance on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance the customer experience.
• Make credit recommendations for personal lending and home financing in compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Apply risk management frameworks to protect bank assets and maintain the quality of the lending portfolio.
• Collaborate with branch team members to achieve business objectives and ensure accurate data entry and compliance.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in financial services or a consultative sales role.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of retail investments and lending products.
• Federal registration with the NMLS is required (the Bank will provide instruction on registration requirements).
• Proven ability to build rapport with customers and solve problems creatively.
• Proficiency with digital tools, including tablets, smartphones, and online banking applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Cantonese or Mandarin.
• Experience in a consultative customer service or sales environment.
• Existing lending qualifications and designations.
