Retail Business Counselor

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact for independent retailers within an assigned territory.
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with store owners and managers to drive profitable sales growth.
• Conduct regular store visits to evaluate merchandising execution, profitability, and customer experience.
• Identify opportunities to expand sales with existing accounts and recruit new independent grocers to the cooperative.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve service, pricing, and product issues effectively.
• Lead the onboarding and transition processes for new retailers to ensure smooth integration.
• Support store remodels, resets, and grand openings as required.
• Monitor competitive trends and market shifts to provide actionable insights to leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience in retail or wholesale sales, account management, or business counseling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach others.
• Analytical ability to interpret retail trends and develop actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
• Experience with reporting and dashboard tools such as Power BI.
