Retail Business Counselor

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact for independent retailers within an assigned territory.
• Build and maintain trust-based relationships with store owners and managers to drive profitable sales growth.
• Conduct regular store visits to ensure effective merchandising execution, profitability, and customer experience.
• Identify opportunities to grow sales with existing accounts and recruit new independent grocers to the cooperative.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve service, pricing, and product issues effectively.
• Lead onboarding processes for new retailers and support store remodels, resets, and grand openings.
• Collaborate with Category Management and Marketing to align promotions and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor competitive trends and market shifts to provide actionable insights to leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience in retail or wholesale sales, account management, or business counseling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform regular territory travel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach others.
• Analytical ability to interpret retail trends and develop recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
• Experience with reporting and dashboard tools such as Power BI.
