Retail Banking Lawyer

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on retail banking, consumer finance, and consumer credit matters
• Advise on UK consumer finance and retail banking regulation, including the Consumer Credit Act 1974, FCA Handbook, and Consumer Duty
• Draft, review, and advise on consumer finance documentation, including regulated credit agreements and customer terms and conditions
• Partner with legal, compliance, product, risk, and regulatory teams to support product development and regulatory change

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer eligible to practise in the UK or equivalent overseas qualification
• Strong experience in consumer finance, consumer credit, or retail banking
• Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, FCA regulatory requirements, and Consumer Duty
• Experience supporting retail banks, fintechs, BNPL providers, or other regulated financial services
• Strong drafting, stakeholder management, and regulatory analysis skills
