About the role
Responsibilities
- Approach guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, and service-oriented manner
- Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in maintaining food and beverage costs and inventories
- Monitor server cash overages and shortages
- Maintain service standards through quality control and coaching sessions
- Follow up on accidents, problems, or guest complaints immediately
- Assist in staff scheduling, wage progress, and productivity reports
- Ensure all side work duties are completed by servers
- Support the development of promotional ideas and monthly department meetings
- Assist in employee performance appraisals and maintaining food quality standards
Requirements
- At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with basic arithmetic and financial data
- Strong problem-solving and initiative skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory responsibility
- College coursework in a related field
