Responsible Officer

Responsibilities

• Act as a Responsible Officer (RO) and own the SFC Type 1 and Type 4 license application and maintenance processes
• Supervise regulated activities and liaise with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and other regulatory bodies
• Develop and implement comprehensive plans to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
• Conduct thorough reviews of company operations, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary documentation for license applications
• Coordinate and respond to enquiries or requests from the SFC
• Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Provide guidance and advice on licensing matters to ensure ongoing compliance
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with external legal and compliance professionals

Requirements

• Must be a current holder of Type 1 and Type 4 licenses with a demonstrable history of license maintenance
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, focusing on licensing and regulatory compliance
• In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong securities and futures regulations, including the SFO and relevant codes
• Familiarity with the virtual asset industry and blockchain technology is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with regulatory bodies and stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
