Respiratory Therapist

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care on patient care floors and participate in daily operational activities
• Demonstrate competency and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards
• Train and educate current and new staff for the Respiratory Service Area
• Maintain collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare teams
• Perform diagnostic cardiology procedures including EKG, EEG, and pulmonary function testing
• Draw Arterial Blood Gasses and manage analyzer maintenance and troubleshooting
• Attend Trauma, Code Blue, and Rapid Response Team emergencies
• Assist with the establishment and maintenance of airways

Requirements

• Two years of experience in an acute care hospital accredited by the Joint Commission
• Experience in neonatal and pediatric critical patient care
• State of Colorado Respiratory Therapist license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
