Respiratory Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide quality respiratory care including routine and complex procedures
• Plan patient respiratory care needs in collaboration with the care team
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards
• Interpret and communicate patient results to support care
• Document interventions and responses in electronic medical records
• Explain therapeutic modalities to patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain skills and knowledge necessary for safe, effective respiratory care

Requirements

• Graduate from a CoARC-approved Registered Respiratory Therapy Program in Florida
• Minimum one year of professional experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Current RRT or CRT credential from the NBRC
• Basic Life Support certification
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to respond to disaster within 24 hours and establish care within 72 hours
• Ability to work onsite in austere environments and handle 12-hour shifts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with special needs populations
• Understanding of "Special Needs" populations
