Respiratory Therapist Intermediate

Responsibilities

• Initiate and perform all phases of neonatal, pediatric and adult respiratory care
• Manage continuous ventilator support, CPAP, and BiPAP devices
• Participate in rounds with primary providers and care teams
• Perform complex procedures including high frequency ventilation, bronchoscopy, and pulmonary function studies
• Act as a member of Cardiac Arrest and Rapid Response Teams
• Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory care
• Accurately document care in the patient's health record

Requirements

• Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Current Michigan state license in respiratory therapy
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to perform considerable physical and mental effort including lifting and standing

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pediatric or neonatal intensive care experience
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC
