About the role
Responsibilities
- Initiate and perform all phases of neonatal, pediatric and adult respiratory care
- Manage continuous ventilator support, CPAP, and BiPAP devices
- Participate in rounds with primary providers and care teams
- Perform complex procedures including high frequency ventilation, bronchoscopy, and pulmonary function studies
- Act as a member of Cardiac Arrest and Rapid Response Teams
- Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory care
- Accurately document care in the patient's health record
Requirements
- Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Current Michigan state license in respiratory therapy
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to perform considerable physical and mental effort including lifting and standing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous pediatric or neonatal intensive care experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the NBRC
