Respiratory Therapist

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations based on policy and protocol.
• Execute advanced management and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
• Assess the effectiveness of treatments and maintain accurate documentation according to department and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate smooth patient transitions to referral services, home, or the next point of service.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory issues.
• Instruct and train nursing staff, medical personnel, and students regarding respiratory care services.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Michigan State Respiratory Therapist License.
• NBRC Respiratory Therapist Registry (CRT/RRT).
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 2 years of relevant clinical experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
