Respiratory Care Practitioner II

Responsibilities

• Promote and provide safe, effective respiratory care to patients across various age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate plans of care according to hospital policy and protocols.
• Execute routine respiratory care procedures and maintain accurate, complete, and legible clinical documentation.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide timely, appropriate treatments.
• Assist physicians or senior practitioners with specialized procedures such as bronchoscopy or trans-tracheal oxygenation.
• Provide educational materials and teaching to patients and their families regarding respiratory therapy.
• Participate in performance improvement, quality assessment activities, and interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Associate degree from a Respiratory Therapy training program accredited by CAAHEP/CoARC.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Respiratory Care Board of California.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the AHA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an acute care facility.
