Residential Youth Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic care and trauma-informed support to young people in crisis accommodation
• Develop supportive relationships with young people while adhering to professional boundaries
• Assist with daily activities including meal preparation, personal care, and medication administration
• Manage crisis situations using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) strategies to de-escalate behaviors
• Participate in case planning and collaborate with Case Managers to monitor client progress
• Facilitate educational groups, life skills programs, and recreational activities

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or a relevant qualification
• Experience working with vulnerable youth and understanding issues related to homelessness
• Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviors and set boundaries in a residential setting
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Full driver licence with no restrictions
• Ability to work a rotating roster including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
