Residential Youth Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on, trauma-informed support to young people in a residential crisis setting
• Support young people with daily living needs, including meals, hygiene, and safety
• Undertake client intake, assessments, inductions, and detailed documentation
• Maintain a child and youth safe environment in line with National Principles for Child Safe Organisations
• Assist young people in working towards individual support plan goals and life skills development
• Facilitate group programs and workshops
• Liaise with case managers and external services to coordinate care
• Complete accurate case notes, reports, and administrative tasks

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Social/Community Welfare, Youth Work, Social Science, or equivalent experience
• Experience or understanding of working with young people experiencing homelessness or at risk
• Strong knowledge of NSW child protection and mandatory reporting requirements
• Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current NSW driver's licence
• Ability to pass a national police history check and obtain clearance to work with children/vulnerable people
