About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on, trauma-informed support to young people in a residential crisis setting
- Support young people with daily living needs, including meals, hygiene, and safety
- Undertake client intake, assessments, inductions, and detailed documentation
- Maintain a child and youth safe environment in line with National Principles for Child Safe Organisations
- Assist young people in working towards individual support plan goals and life skills development
- Facilitate group programs and workshops
- Liaise with case managers and external services to coordinate care
- Complete accurate case notes, reports, and administrative tasks
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in Social/Community Welfare, Youth Work, Social Science, or equivalent experience
- Experience or understanding of working with young people experiencing homelessness or at risk
- Strong knowledge of NSW child protection and mandatory reporting requirements
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current NSW driver's licence
- Ability to pass a national police history check and obtain clearance to work with children/vulnerable people
