About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical support to men in crisis within a residential setting
  • Implement program policies and procedures to ensure a safe, stable, and nurturing environment
  • Monitor resident activities and follow through with established case plans and programming
  • Assist with nutritional needs by ensuring quality meal presentation and maintaining cleanliness in cooking areas
  • Document business requirements, process reports, and complete incident reports as necessary
  • Maintain professional boundaries and treat all residents, volunteers, and the public with dignity and respect

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Valid Driver's license including a driver's abstract
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector screening
  • Minimum of six months of experience working with marginalized clientele
  • Ability to lift between 25 to 50 lbs and work in a high-stress environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the field of Mental Health and Addictions
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or De-escalation training
  • Trauma-informed care training or Mental Health First Aid
  • Narcan/Naloxone training
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and spirituality
