Residential Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors by monitoring activities
• Offer personal, practical, and morale support to clients
• Maintain accurate records of day-to-day happenings, including logbooks and occurrence reports
• Coordinate client care relating to security issues, such as bed checks and room searches
• Liaise with external agencies including social development, police, and parole officers
• Handle client admission, orientation, and enforcement of facility policies and rules
• Perform property and grounds security inspections in accordance with procedures

Requirements

• Post-secondary student with a high school diploma
• Completion of specialized courses in Addictions, Correctional, or Human Services
• Ability to pass a Police Record Check (vulnerable sector check) and obtain reliability security clearance
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it)
• Eligibility for the Canada Summer Jobs program (must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident)
