About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide professional support, care, and case management to residents on conditional release from federal or provincial institutions.
- Supervise residents and oversee the facility to ensure compliance with parole conditions and house regulations.
- Assist residents with successful community reintegration by helping them identify and access necessary community services.
- Maintain accurate, factual, and detailed logs, reports, and resident files.
- Intervene effectively in crisis situations and exercise sound judgment to maintain safety and security.
- Perform regular facility rounds, control access points, and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the residence.
- Collaborate with the Community Residential Facility team and Parole Office through essential communications.
Requirements
- Correctional Techniques Certificate and/or equivalent training and experience.
- Ability to pass a "Reliability Status" level of clearance as per CSC directive.
- Proven ability to handle high-stress environments, including potential verbal aggression or physical violence.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to maintain legible, accurate written records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and demonstrate cultural competence.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain alert while on duty.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingualism (English/French) or a willingness to participate in second language education.
