Residential Night Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide daily residential supervision for approximately 70 high school students during a 6-week summer program.
• Monitor overnight hall safety, enforce curfew schedules, and manage silent study hours.
• Implement emergency procedures and crisis management protocols as needed.
• Develop and facilitate community-building activities and icebreakers for student groups.
• Support students' goals regarding higher education and provide academic advisement/tutoring.
• Complete weekly reports, incident forms, and other required program documentation.
• Maintain constant communication with the Assistant Director regarding shift status and policy violations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an AA or bachelor’s degree program.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of first-generation and low-income students.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with students and staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in virtual tools including Zoom, Google Drive, and Google Classroom.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with TRIO or Educational Equity Programs.
• One year of experience working with underrepresented students as a tutor, teacher's aide, or counselor assistant.
• One year of experience living and working in a college residential setting.
• Bilingual skills.
