About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic and casework services to juveniles and their families within Residential Treatment Programs
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, interviews, and develop individual treatment or intervention plans
  • Facilitate programs, monitor community service, and track progress to ensure compliance with court orders
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services
  • Formulate Initial Service Plans and prepare detailed hearing reports
  • Conduct home visits and make formal recommendations to Judges
  • Testify in court and collaborate with community agencies and schools to assist with client reentry
  • Work non-traditional hours as required by programming needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with delinquent youth in a human service position
  • Working knowledge of developmental and child psychology, family dynamics, and behavioral disorders
  • Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license and reliable access to transportation
  • Strong computer literacy, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact positively and objectively with diverse populations, including juveniles and parents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Two years of casework experience in a juvenile court or related child welfare agency
