Residential Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks, including side-load or rear-load vehicles and hydraulic systems.
• Collect solid waste, yard waste, and recyclables on specified curbside or backdoor routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and maintain accurate daily truck reports and route documentation.
• Ensure all safety standards are met, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and tag prohibited waste items to ensure safe disposal.
• Maintain a clean vehicle interior and exterior and communicate mechanical issues to supervisors immediately.
• Manage assigned helpers and work with supervisors to improve routing efficiencies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience or a valid CDL school certificate.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively using proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards.
• Ability to maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces and high-traffic areas.
