Residential Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide individual psychotherapy and facilitate group therapy sessions
• Coordinate clinical care with case management and external services
• Assess consumers and provide appropriate interventions
• Support and train consumers in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene and household chores
• Manage intake and discharge tasks for residents
• Maintain household safety, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry
• Document consumer interactions, daily logs, and medication records
• Respond to building emergencies and facilitate interventions
• Advocate for the integration of individuals with mental illness in the community
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• RC I: Pursuing Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field
• RC II: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field
• One year of mental health or related experience preferred
• QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) certification
• CPR & First Aid certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks like climbing stairs

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nurse’s Aid (C.N.A.) or Home Health Aid (HHA) certification
