Residential Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide individual psychotherapy and facilitate group therapy sessions
• Coordinate clinical care with case management and external services
• Assess consumers and provide appropriate interventions
• Support and train consumers in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene and household duties
• Complete intake and discharge tasks for residents
• Maintain household safety, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry
• Document consumer interactions, daily logs, and medication records
• Respond to building emergencies and facilitate appropriate interventions
• Advocate for the integration of individuals with mental illness in the community
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing

Requirements

• RC I: Active enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in social work, psychology, human services, or related field
• RC II: Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field
• QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person) certification
• CPR & First Aid certification
• Must be at least 20 years of age
• Ability to pass physical and TB screening
• Availability for shift work and/or weekend work

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of mental health experience or in a related field
• Bilingual proficiency
