About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement individualized, goal-centered programs for adults with developmental disabilities to promote independence
  • Support the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of service users, including meal preparation and personal care
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of person-directed treatment and rehabilitation plans
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, shift reports, and incident reports using AIMS software
  • Administer and accurately document medication as required
  • Provide transportation for service users to and from specific destinations
  • Ensure the general upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of the residence and office

Requirements

  • Developmental Social Worker Diploma or equivalent in a Human Services field
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and vulnerable populations
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and training in medication administration
  • Experience and training in lift and transfer techniques
