About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement individualized, goal-centered programs for adults with developmental disabilities to promote independence and quality of living.
  • Support the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of Service Users, including meal preparation and personal care.
  • Implement Behaviour Support Plans and Applied Behaviour Analytic (ABA) programming to manage complex behaviours.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and electronic documentation using AIMS software.
  • Administer and accurately document medications as required.
  • Provide transportation for Service Users to appointments and other destinations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing residential environment.

Requirements

  • Developmental Social Worker Diploma or equivalent in a Human Services field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and vulnerable populations.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current First Aid & CPR/AED certification.
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification.
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with medication administration and documentation.
  • Training and experience in lift and transfer techniques.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analytic (ABA) programming.
