Residential Care Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security for residents, students, volunteers, staff, and visitors
• Manage front-line reception, including operating multi-line telephone systems and greeting visitors
• Conduct hourly facility rounds of residential, administrative, and medical areas
• Monitor resident passes and process security access, including fingerprint scans and photos
• Generate incident reports and log documentation for appropriate facility staff
• Assist with facility fire evacuation plans and monitor attendance for vulnerable residents
• Collect urine samples as requested or for random testing
• Refer individuals to withdrawal management services and hospitals in consultation with management
• Enter facility-related concerns into the management system (Angus Anywhere)

Requirements

• Up to two years of Community College education, preferably in social services
• Experience working within the social services or mental health sectors
• Experience operating security systems and multi-line telephone systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications
• Ability to pass a vulnerable sector check and applicable background screenings
• Strong customer service and information desk experience is an asset
