About the role

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary focal point for communicating product and process issues between Product Engineering and manufacturing plant personnel
  • Lead the resolution of component, subsystem, and assembly issues related to design specifications
  • Conduct root cause analysis for warranty issues and material scrap, establishing salvage, repair, or rework procedures
  • Feed back manufacturing learnings to Design Release Engineers (DREs) to strengthen design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA)
  • Support the launch of new designs and change requests through plant readiness reviews and change management processes
  • Engage with Plant Floor Change Management (PFCM) to assess manufacturing changes impacting product quality
  • Support pilot, preproduction, and prototype build activities and execution
  • Participate in standard product and quality team meetings to document system issues and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of transmission design-release-validation-quality experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of Engineering Change Management, GPDP, PPAP, and DFMEA/PFMEA
  • Knowledge of engineering theory and operating principles of Energy Conversion Systems
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for collaborating with local and remote teams
  • Willingness to travel domestically (up to 5%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or Business
  • Previous experience as a Design Release Engineer (DRE)
  • Cross-functional experience in Calibration, Validation, or Analysis
  • Manufacturing experience in casting, machining, and assembly
  • Red X or DFSS certification
