About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control entrance to a secure facility to ensure safety and security
- Complete intake, program orientation, and discharge procedures for residents
- Perform scheduled and random urinalysis testing, inspections, and breath tests
- Conduct pat-searches of residents and inspect belongings for contraband
- Supervise resident movement, activity, and compliance with facility rules
- Document disciplinary actions and maintain accurate shift reports and logs
- Store, monitor, and dispense resident medications following prescribed protocols
- Conduct physical grounds and facility safety checks to identify security concerns
- Monitor delivery, storage, and service of meals, including cooking when necessary
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive resident information
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass and maintain security clearances required by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP)
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler certifications within two weeks of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet browser navigation
- Note: This position has a Male gender as a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in criminal justice, social services, or a related field
- 6 months of experience in human services, criminal justice, or correctional systems
- Valid Driver’s License
