About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities and Resident Engineering Inspection for the Hudson Tunnel mega-project.
- Conduct technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and project changes to ensure constructability.
- Ensure staff safety, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with government and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and overall effectiveness to meet cost and quality standards.
- Administer the contractor payment process and recommend adjustments based on completed work.
- Facilitate meetings with contractors, clients, local agencies, and community stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Construction Contract Administration for related work.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil and rock mechanics, and construction methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of New Jersey or the ability to obtain it.
- Experience with large-scale capital improvement projects in the Northern New Jersey/NYC area.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, NJDOT, and Amtrak Standards.
- Experience with geotechnical programs such as LPILE, GROUP, or Plaxis.
