Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead site representative managing day-to-day construction supervision activities for a major public realm development.
• Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary supervision team including civil, structural, architecture, landscape, and utility engineers.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract documents, and project standards.
• Review and endorse shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance while proactively addressing issues with contractors.
• Chair progress meetings and prepare technical reports, correspondence, and action trackers.
• Oversee site inspections, NCRs, and snag lists to ensure timely closure and effective corrective actions.
• Coordinate with client representatives and design teams to manage RFIs and design changes.
• Support and enforce HSE and environmental requirements to promote a strong safety culture on site.
• Manage the handover process, including the verification of as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Extensive experience in construction supervision of large-scale infrastructure, public realm, or urban development projects.
• Proven experience serving as a Resident Engineer or in an equivalent leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, standards, and FIDIC-based contract administration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary site teams and manage contractors on complex projects.
• Proficiency in reviewing technical submittals and preparing professional engineering reports.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in the KSA or GCC region is preferred.
