Resident Engineer - Heavy Civil

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, design, construction, and maintenance phases of tunnel and ventilation shaft projects
• Provide technical expertise in tunneling engineering, including design review and construction methodologies
• Implement QA/QC procedures to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with project specifications
• Identify potential risks and hazards associated with tunneling and develop mitigation strategies
• Liaise with project stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and local communities
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards
• Maintain accurate project records, including construction documentation and inspection reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related field or equivalent work experience
• 10-15+ years of experience in field construction
• 10+ years of experience in tunneling, underground construction, or ventilation engineering
• Proficiency in CAD tools and technical analysis software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or ANSYS
• In-depth knowledge of tunneling methods, ventilation systems, and geotechnical engineering principles
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards including OSHA, ASTM, and NFPA

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree or professional certification, such as a PE license
• Experience in the construction of large civil, structural, or industrial projects
