Resident Engineer (Electrical)

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site electrical engineering representative for the project
• Review design drawings, shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and client teams
• Monitor installation of LV/MV systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, and ELV systems
• Ensure compliance with local (Suruhanjaya Tenaga, MS) and international (IEEE, IEC, NFPA, Uptime Institute) standards
• Conduct regular inspections and review/close out NCRs
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities including load bank and integrated systems testing (IST)
• Support final handover including O&M manuals and as-built drawings
• Identify electrical risks and site conflicts early
• Monitor adherence to site safety standards for high-voltage environments
• Prepare progress reports, site memos, and technical assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 10 years of electrical engineering experience
• Project experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or semiconductor plants
• Strong understanding of HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS, diesel generators, and grounding
• Knowledge of electrical redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N)
