About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate art-based therapeutic activities for young people with high and complex needs in both 1:1 and group settings
- Develop, implement, and review tailored quality plans and individual programs to assist young people, including those receiving NDIS services
- Interpret client artwork and behaviors using a clinical assessment lens to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary care teams and foster/kinship carers to provide holistic support
- Maintain accurate documentation, including case notes, care agreements, and NDIS reporting/accreditation tasks
- Support the development of risk assessments, cultural support plans, and behavioral support plans
Requirements
- Master's degree in art therapy
- Current registration with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA)
- Current Child Safe Environments (Through Their Eyes) Certificate
- Demonstrated experience working with children and young people subject to child protection intervention
- Understanding of the impact of trauma and attachment on complex behaviors
- Current Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate
- Ability to clear probity checks, including National Criminal History and Working with Children Checks
