About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and support services to Men's Shelter clients, including supervision and intake
- Enforce program and facility rules and procedures clearly and consistently
- Manage the intake process, ensuring all paperwork is completed and policies are understood
- Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, mediation, and advocacy to clients
- Maintain shelter property, facilitate client chores, and perform facility cleaning tasks
- Serve meals utilizing ServSafe protocols
- Document client notes, incident reports, and meeting notes in compliance with agency standards
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to provide input on client housing plans
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social service residential setting
- Experience working with homeless and mentally ill populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional conduct and handle conflict resolution effectively
- Ability to pass criminal records clearance, TB testing, and health screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HMIS (Homeless Management Information System)
