Resident Advocate

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and support services to men's shelter clients, including supervision and intake
• Enforce program and facility rules and procedures clearly and consistently
• Manage the intake process, ensuring all paperwork is completed and policies are understood
• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, mediation, and advocacy to clients
• Maintain shelter property and cleanliness, including serving meals and facilitating client chores
• Document client notes, incident reports, and meeting notes with high data quality
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to provide input on client housing plans and service activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social service residential setting
• Experience working with homeless and mentally ill populations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to pass criminal records clearance, TB testing, and health screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using HMIS (Homeless Management Information System)
