Resident Advocate

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and support services to Men's Shelter clients during graveyard shifts
• Maintain constant supervision of clients and shelter property
• Manage the client intake process, ensuring all paperwork and policy orientations are completed
• Enforce program and facility rules and procedures clearly and consistently
• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, mediation, and advocacy to clients
• Perform facility maintenance tasks including cleaning, stripping beds, and restocking supplies
• Serve meals following Servace protocols and facilitate client chores
• Maintain accurate client notes and documentation in compliance with agency standards
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to provide input on client housing plans

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social service residential setting
• Experience working with homeless and mentally ill populations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet applications
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to pass criminal records clearance, TB testing, and health screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using HMIS (Homeless Management Information System)
