About the Company

For over 50 years, Covenant House New York (CHNY) has been at the forefront of transforming lives by providing comprehensive shelter, housing, and wrap-around support services for vulnerable homeless, runaway, and exploited youth. CHNY impacts the lives of over 1,500 young people aged 16-24 every year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct engagement, supervision, and support to youth residing in shelters
• Monitor program and client activities to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Assist youth with life skills such as laundry, ironing, and cleaning
• Maintain ETO records and document all youth activities using the S.O.A.P. format
• Conduct nightly meetings focused on mission, motivation, and community building
• Conduct workshops on life-skill issues including hygiene and anger management
• Complete all incident reports fully and correctly by the end of the shift
• Escort youths to other agencies and services when necessary

Requirements

• High School/GED with three or more years of relevant work experience
• 8-hour security license (Covenant House will provide training if not held)
• Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Strong focus on child protection and resident safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience working with at-risk/homeless young females
• Driver's license and comfortability driving a 7-passenger van
