About the role

Responsibilities

  • Directly engages, supervises, and supports youth residing at the ROP site
  • Ensures the site and youth rooms are clean and kept in a safe condition
  • Welcomes and orients youth to site expectations and child protection protocols
  • Assists youth with daily preparation, including ensuring they are awake and fed
  • Monitors program and client activities to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Cooks or assists in the cooking of meals for the youth
  • Provides support to Case Managers with paperwork, filing, and appointment follow-ups
  • Maintains records in the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) computer system
  • Escorts youth to other agencies and services such as hospitals or school visits
  • Leads or participates in recreational and holiday activities
  • Completes incident reports and de-escalates crises following agency protocol

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or one year of relevant work experience
  • Interest in working with youth who have experienced homelessness
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to move throughout the day and maintain an upbeat demeanor
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Strong focus on child protection and resident safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working with at-risk youth
  • Driver's license with comfortability driving a 7-passenger van
