Residence Life Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage on-campus residence life, including student community development, residential programming, and budget oversight.
• Supervise, recruit, train, and evaluate a team of 20 to 50 part-time student staff members.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support to respond to student crises, emergencies, and facility issues.
• Manage the residence conduct process, including judicial sanctions and behavioral standard reviews.
• Act as a resource and mediator for students regarding personal, academic, and social concerns.
• Collaborate with campus partners such as Campus Security, RCMP, and Student Health Services.
• Advise elected student residence governments and support student leadership development.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• 3-4 years of related experience in student affairs, residence life, or community management.
• Proficiency with standard office software.
• Ability to work flexible, irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
• Willingness to live in assigned on-campus accommodation.
• Consent to a Criminal Record Check.
• Commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Experience developing and delivering presentations and workshops.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise tact and discretion.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Oral fluency in a second language.
