Residence Life Area Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Engage with residents to foster community, relationship building, and student-focused growth.
• Hire, train, and mentor Senior Resident Advisors (SRAs) and Resident Advisors (RAs).
• Manage student conduct processes and mediate interpersonal conflicts.
• Provide crisis response and after-hours support through an on-call rotation.
• Implement regular programming to build interpersonal relationships and a sense of belonging.
• Oversee facility needs, including furniture assessment, laundry room management, and submitting work orders.
• Utilize StarRez software to manage move-in/move-out processes and student housing information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in Residence Life, Student Affairs, or a similar residential university setting.
• Strong conflict management and mediation skills.
• Proven leadership and administrative coordination abilities.
• Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and handle stressful situations calmly.
• Must be a professing Christian willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of StarRez housing software.
• Understanding of critical developmental issues facing late adolescents.
• Experience in counseling or active listening.
