About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and operation of upper-class residential areas, including townhouse-style housing.
- Supervise one Graduate Assistant Residence Director and 10 paraprofessional staff members, providing regular direction and feedback.
- Foster a supportive community environment conducive to academic achievement and personal growth.
- Counsel and refer students to appropriate campus services while interpreting and enforcing college policies.
- Manage the professional staff on-call rotation and participate in formal crisis management.
- Supervise Resident Assistant programming and advise the Hall Council and special interest housing communities.
- Coordinate with Facilities Management to oversee the physical maintenance of the residence area.
- Assist with the recruitment, selection, and training of Resident Assistants and the management of the Housing Lottery process.
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations and advancing diversity and inclusion.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to participate in a formal professional staff on-call rotation.
- Capacity to develop and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse academic community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of post-undergraduate employment in student affairs.
- Previous experience within a residence hall setting.
- Experience in crisis management, supervision, community development, and programming.
