Residence Director

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate a staff of 9-19 Resident Assistants
• Manage residence hall budgets and staff programming funding
• Provide academic and personal counseling to students and mediate roommate conflicts
• Serve as an Administrator on Duty (AOD) for crisis and emergency situations during non-business and weekend hours
• Oversee operational management of designated buildings, including health and safety inspections and maintenance coordination
• Act as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Office of Student Conduct, Care and Development
• Facilitate the opening and closing of residence halls

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of professional residence life experience
• Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of student development theory
• Effective communication skills, including cross-cultural communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including frequent evenings, late nights, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate-level residence life experience
• Experience working with specialized student populations
