Reservoir Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build computational models and high-fidelity reservoir simulations using proprietary and vendor tools to develop new technologies and enhance operational practices.
• Perform history-matching using field data and generate dynamic predictions through calibrated models.
• Conduct data QA/QC, analyze trends, and interpret field experimental data (DAS, pressure, tracer) to provide data-driven insights.
• Perform reservoir simulation analysis to support business decisions regarding workovers, infill drilling, facility capacity, and reserves estimation.
• Quantify subsurface uncertainties using multi-scenario modeling methods.
• Collaborate with global business units and multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, data scientists, and petrophysicists, to integrate reservoir and production data.
• Conduct R&D on new technologies and best practices to provide engineering design recommendations.

Requirements

• Master’s, Dual Degree, or PhD in petroleum, chemical, mechanical, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in computational or reservoir simulation.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry or in research and technology development.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts, including analytical performance prediction and economics metrics.
• Fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics, porous media flow, and computational fluid dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with proprietary or vendor engineering analysis software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in computational science, including 3D modeling, machine learning, and optimization.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse, Petrel RE, Intersect, tNavigator, or CMG.
• Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, C, or Python.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with EOR, geomechanics, or fracture mechanics.
• Previous experience in mentorship or team leadership.
