About the role
Responsibilities
- Build computational models and high-fidelity reservoir simulations using proprietary and vendor tools to develop new technologies and enhance operational practices.
- Perform history-matching using field data and generate dynamic predictions through calibrated models.
- Conduct data QA/QC, analyze trends, and interpret field experimental data (DAS, pressure, tracer) to provide data-driven insights.
- Perform reservoir simulation analysis to support business decisions regarding workovers, infill drilling, facility capacity, and reserves estimation.
- Quantify subsurface uncertainties using multi-scenario modeling methods.
- Collaborate with global business units and multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, data scientists, and petrophysicists, to integrate reservoir and production data.
- Conduct R&D on new technologies and best practices to provide engineering design recommendations.
Requirements
- Master’s, Dual Degree, or PhD in petroleum, chemical, mechanical, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in computational or reservoir simulation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry or in research and technology development.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts, including analytical performance prediction and economics metrics.
- Fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics, porous media flow, and computational fluid dynamics.
- Hands-on experience with proprietary or vendor engineering analysis software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in computational science, including 3D modeling, machine learning, and optimization.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse, Petrel RE, Intersect, tNavigator, or CMG.
- Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, C, or Python.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with EOR, geomechanics, or fracture mechanics.
- Previous experience in mentorship or team leadership.
