Researcher, Recursive Self-Improvement Preparedness

Responsibilities

• Research and mitigate AI threats related to recursive self-improvement through measurement, mitigation, and coordination
• Turn open-ended objectives into concrete research directions and prioritize high-impact work
• Execute quickly by building scrappy prototypes and improving them iteratively
• Focus on areas such as AI R&D risk measurement, data-poisoning mitigations, model behavior science, model transparency, and technical verification mechanisms
• Collaborate with and secure buy-in from staff across the organization to scale safety efforts

Requirements

• Exceptional technical execution skills
• Strong strategic and research taste, especially in domains with weak feedback loops
• Passion for AI risk mitigation and the future of AI development
• Experience in ML research, AI alignment, or AI verification
