Researcher, Misalignment Research

Responsibilities

• Design and implement worst-case demonstrations to make AGI alignment risks concrete for stakeholders.
• Develop adversarial and system-level evaluations grounded in these demonstrations to drive adoption across the company.
• Create automated tools and infrastructure to scale automated red-teaming and stress testing.
• Conduct research on the failure modes of alignment techniques and propose technical improvements.
• Publish influential internal or external papers to shift safety strategy and industry practice.
• Partner with engineering, research, policy, and legal teams to integrate findings into product safeguards.
• Mentor engineers and researchers to foster a culture of rigorous, impact-oriented safety work.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in AI red-teaming, security research, adversarial ML, or related safety fields.
• Strong research track record through publications, open-source projects, or high-impact technical work.
• Fluency in modern ML/AI techniques and comfort working with large-scale codebases.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience driving cross-functional projects involving research, engineering, and policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Security, or a related discipline.
