About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify emerging AI safety risks and develop new methodologies for exploring their impact
  • Build and continuously refine evaluations of frontier AI models to assess identified risks
  • Design and build scalable systems and processes to support capability evaluations
  • Own the scientific validity of preparedness evaluations, including designing new evals grounded in real threat models (CBRN, cyber, etc.)
  • Maintain existing evaluations to prevent staleness or silent regression
  • Contribute to risk management refinement and the development of best practice guidelines for AI safety

Requirements

  • Experience in ML research engineering
  • Proficiency in ML observability and monitoring
  • Experience creating large language model-enabled applications
  • A robust red-teaming mindset
  • Ability to scope and deliver complex projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • First-hand experience in red-teaming systems (computer systems or otherwise)
  • Strong understanding of the societal nuances of AI deployment
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally
